Arrival in Seattle

We arrived in Seattle today, Thursday March 6th. Heading north on I-5 we arrived in LaConner and the Tomco Marine facility late, just at closing. Kurt Dilworth stayed around to show us our boat, which is within 2 weeks of completion. The fly-bridge is yet to be installed, but everything else looks incredible! We are going to rummage through our shipments tomorrow morning so that we will have enough gear to survive the next 2 weeks on another American Tug 41 until ours is ready. Chris is already too cold to survive, even with her down parka on. Clearly, we will be purchasing more "clothing", especially since this is a great day with no wind, and yet.....

We took pictures of the boat, and Kurt was anxious that we think that it is not yet "complete enough". Chris agrees, but the progress over the next 2 weeks will go faster, since the hard work is done. The only real issue is that there is a trash compactor where we wanted shelves. The floors are great, the engine and electricals are installed perfectly, and the railings, crane, etc look terrific. The fly-brigde installation will have to be in the outside, since it is too tall for the plant. We are talking to the locals about the currents in the canal here, so that we can cruise to the plant in the Cinnamon Girl on the way to the Alaska Seminar, and then be able to leave our boat here when we return home on May 3rd. We have scouted out the nearest CostCo to provision the boat. Chris is excited about the Tulip Festival here next week, and Dr. John will be performing here on March 16th, so there is a lot to do. We drove to the coast in Edmonds on the way North today, and saw the Marina where the seminar will be next week....what a town. There is just too much to do, and it still is overwhelming to us. We are opening several of our shipped boxes in the morning to extract the necessary items needed for the next 2 weeks (until we get everything moved onto our boat), and then on to Bellingham to officially take possession of an AT-41! More to follow...
